 These pictures were taken on 10/30/03 from Chester, Vermont. A Nikon CoolPix 5000 camera was used. The sky was clear. There was minimal interference from 1st quarter moon, which set early during the aurora.

Looking North - This is how the aurora started a small reddish glow in the northeast.It quickly expanded. Time 18:50 EST.
Red Sky - Reddish glow expanded to a red sky. Time 19:15 EST.
Red Flares - The red started to spike and curtain from the horizon to well overhead. Time 19:28 EST.
Tree Lights - As the activity banked down, we were treated to a classic green glow with red spikes to the north. Time 20:15 EST.
